2018 Pittsburg Chamber Music Festival (June 18 - 23)
On its 6th edition, the Festival brings together some of the finest musicians in the Four-State area. Chamber music is a unique form of art that has been referred to as "the music of friends." With major support from Pittsburg State University, the Bicknell Family Center for the Arts, the PSU Music Department, the Colonial Fox Theater Foundation, the Treble Clef Club, and professional artists in the area, the 2018 edition promises to keep the highest level of performances to which our demanding audience is used to.

The Eight Seasons
Performed by Violinist Raul Munguia
& The Festival Chamber Players
Bicknell Family Center for the Arts
PSU Violin Professor, Dr. Raul Munguia, will be joined by the Festival Chamber Players. This concert contrasts Antonio Vivaldi's timeless Four Seasons with Astor Piazzolla's tango-inspired The Four Seasons of Buenos Aires. Combining Vivaldi & Piazzolla together like this underlines the meteorological and cultural differences between Mediterranean Europe and the warm heart of South America. To have them performed side by side creates a fascinating and interesting program of similarities and contrasts.
